3 Weeks

Today Kaida is three weeks old!

Grammom was in all last week to help us out and Grammy is here this week.

She still has her unbilical stump. The book we got at the hospital said it should fall off within 3 weeks. I told her she better get to work on that 'cause the book said so.

She usually sleeps in the bassinet in our room overnight and then naps wherever she lands during the day. We took a nap in the crib the other day though so that was exciting.

She's big enough for the swaddler now so we used that for the first time too.
The other night she slept for five hours. That's actual hours of sleep, not time from the start of one feeding to the start of the next. Seems like it was just a one night thing though. Otherwise we're still at about 3 hours.
Today she's been shortening her feedings from 15-20 minutes per side to 10-15 minutes per side. We'll see if it lasts.

When we have tummy time she picks up her head and turns it to the other side and I'm very impressed by that. Today she really took notice of her zebra toy.

We went to the diaper store last weekend and bought a couple of one size diapers so we can try them out. As soon as the stump falls off we'll be able to start using them.

She weighed 7.8 pounds today which is about 7 pounds 12 ounces! At this rate she'll be out of the smaller newborn clothes by next week. They only go up to 8 pounds.

We went out for dinner this week. We went to Max and Erma's downtown.

Here's Kaida with her cousins Melanie and Addison.

And she got her birth certificate in the mail this week!
